Until August 15th, you have a chance to visit another music festival – now in Bizerte! This year the festival offers a varied show programme that will delight lovers of music, dance and theatre.
The Festival of Bizerte has been held since 1983; it aims to promote and popularise folk art and folklore in the Mediterranean. Gradually, it turned into an entertainment festival that hosts both local artists and world pop stars.
At first, it took place in a fort that could accommodate 2,000 spectators. In 1998, the mayor of the city began construction of an amphitheatre adjacent to the Fort of Spain, and since 2001, the Festival has been moved to this new venue with a capacity of up to 10,000 spectators.
