Today is the New Year in Tunisia. It is not celebrated in the same way as the European one, so you can only see it’s a special day from the fact that some places and institutions are closed today.
This day marks the beginning of the new Hijri lunar year. Interestingly, the Islamic calendar says that this day starts at sunset.
